The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced that 60 minority-serving institutions will be given awards totaling $28.5 million as part of the fiscal year (FY) 2022 DoD Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) Research and Education Program.

Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU), in collaboration with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), is hosting a group of undergraduate students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) for a month-long HBCU GEOINT Undergraduate Research Experience Summer Immersion Program in St. Louis.

The General Services Administration (GSA) has committed to increasing the number of Historically Black Colleges and Universities with Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contracts in fiscal year (FY) 2022, which ends Sept. 30., according to a press release.


The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) launched a new broadband initiative dubbed the Minority Broadband Initiative (MBI), that will focus on “solving broadband deployment challenges in vulnerable communities.”
